Be prepared

  • Make sure you understand who you are meeting with, as well as when and where you are meeting them.
  • Do you need to take a copy of your cv and/or certificates with you?
  • Candidates who have done their homework and know about the company they are interviewing with will have an advantage over other less prepared candidates. Find out a little about the company's history; when and where it started, how big they are, whether they are local, National or International, different divisions e.g. manufacturing, distribution, retail etc. This information may be available via the internet, local library, local knowledge, or even the Yellow Pages. They may ask you why you want to work for them, so having an understanding of their company means you can apply how you would be useful to them.
