Support you CV

  • It is essential that you can quickly and accurately answer questions about your background, so re-read your cv and be prepared to discuss any details in it.
  • In addition, determine ways to relate your skills and experience to the position you are applying for, e.g. "I noted that one of the responsibilities this role includes is ... My job with ... gave me experience in this area."
  • It is common for interviewers to ask you to describe times where you used your initiative or skills to get through difficult situations. You need to be able to quickly recall and briefly describe such a situation with specific details, but without mentioning personal details about the people or company involved. For example:
  • Describe a situation when you had to meet a deadline under pressure
  • Describe a situation where you had to counsel a colleague/employee
  • Describe a situation when you had to work outside your comfort zone
  • Remember that any questions they ask are less about the detail of the answers, and more about how you handled yourself.
